2025 Gulf Red Snapper Season Sets Record: 126 Days of Fishing Fun on Florida’s Gulf Coast

If you're dreaming of reeling in a fresh catch this summer, you're in for a treat—Governor Ron DeSantis has officially announced a record-setting 126-day recreational red snapper season for 2025!

Running from June 1 through July 31, and reopening for weekend fishing in September and October (including Labor Day), this marks one of the longest Gulf red snapper seasons Florida has ever seen. It’s a major win for fishing enthusiasts, families, and coastal communities across the Sunshine State.

Here along the 30A and Destin coastline, we’re lucky to have quick access to some of the best fishing waters in the Gulf—just another reason why this coastal lifestyle is so special.

Red snapper fishing is a favorite pastime, known not only for the thrill of the catch but also for the unbeatable flavor that ends up on dinner tables across the region. This expanded season means even more chances to enjoy life on the water, support local charters, and soak in everything the Florida Gulf Coast has to offer.
